Rev Newel Heath Petty

FAIRHOPE–The Rev. Newel Heath Petty, 82, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at a local hospital. He was a native of Clarke County and a resident of Fairhope. Petty was an ordained minister and a member and retired pastor of South River Park Church of God. He also worked for Goodyear Engineering. He is survived by two sons, the Rev. John Petty of Eaton, Ind., and Charles Petty of Scottsburg, Ind.; four daughters, Jacqueline Stalker of East Llansing, Mich., Janet Burns of Austin, Ind., Jill Chandler of Campbellsville, Ky., and Terry Stewart of Oklahomas City; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at South River Park Church ofr god, with the Rev. Mel Jacobs officiating. Burial will take place in the Timney-South River Park Community Cemetery. The family suggests that memorials be made to South River Park Church ofr God. Arrangements are by Fairhope Funeral Home.
