He was just shy of the age of 6 when his mother passed away in April of 1924.

Brother to Alice Emma (Toler) Morton, Eugene Columbus Toler and Fred Joseph Toler; husband of Myrtle Frances (Hand) Toler, with their marrying on May 7, 1937 and being married just a few months shy of 50 years; father “Daddy” of Julia (Toler) Whiting, Helen (Toler) Dixon, Pat (Toler) Stewart, Joseph “Joe” Toler, Lydia “Joy” (Toler) Edwards and William “Bill” Toler.

Taken from the pamphlet that was given out at his funeral:
“…He had such a pleasant disposition and personality and always had a kind word and beautiful smile to everyone. He always remembered to add, “Bless the hands that prepared it” in every prayer before each and every meal. He never met a stranger and would help anyone, anytime, anywhere! He was dedicated, loyal and busy for the Lord each and everyday and many, many people have been touched by his life. Not only did he preach it, he lived it.”
