Myrtle Frances (Hand) Toler was the daughter of Julius Hand and Maudie (Williams) Hand; 1st wife of Rev William “Willie” Arthur Jackson Toler, with their marrying on May 7, 1937 and being married just a few months shy of 50 years; mother of Julia (Toler) Whiting, Helen (Toler) Dixon, Pat (Toler) Stewart, Joseph “Joe” Toler, Lydia “Joy” (Toler) Edwards and William “Bill” Toler.
Taken from the pamphlet that was given out at her funeral:
“What can we say about Mother? Mom was our partner, guidance counselor, helper, and most of all, our friend. Mom provided more love, compassion and understanding than each of us could possibly need. The love and support that Mom had for her husband and family were portrayed in her every thought and deed. We will sincerely miss our Mom. We are not saying good-bye, but instead, we say, see you soon. We believe that she is at peace with God and is in her heavenly home with her daughter Helen. This fact alone fills the void left in our lives from Mom’s unexpected departure. Mom, we love you.”
